Publishing research paper in a reputable journal is to make an immerse contribution to the scientific community through quality research. Publishing without payment would allow many researchers to have their papers published to help the scientific community, however, because of the cost involved most researchers are restricted from publishing in some quality and expensive journals.

The originality of the research and its quality, sometimes the name of the author has a role in it.

Without payment !!!!!! May mean not so attractive :) I am sorry that should not be the criteria yet the IF and subsequent citations are better when paid...

I honestly , would not consider , in fact I do not like too much of open access too...

Any writer while submitting his article has with him the experience & the knowledge which the author desire to convey the same to viewers &readers so that they may remain aware regarding the status of article & also sometime they may receive the comments from the readers which may remain a guiding factor .

In this line every author may not be after the payment as they are more interested to pass the knowledge in their publication .

I am in agreement with Nirmala S.V.S.G. Novelty is very important and creativity leads to originality and therefore usually lead to acceptance and publication. In research we call it why should we be care or allot these pages to you.

The popularity of the author matters a lot in international journals which are not paid. Of course acceptance is better when the research is new and an eye opener for others
