To define the strain rate effects in the input file of LS DYNA, we need to plot LCSR (Defined curve for Strain rate). The curve can be defined by plotting a curve of "Scale factor for the yield stress" Vs. "Natural logarithm of the absolute value of deviatoric strain". Can anyone explain to me how can I calculate it (scale factor for the yield stress)?
You should have your material data to calculate this curve. First, a split hopkinson pressure bar test result set have to be obtained for different strain rates. Than you can calculate the scale factor. In addition, a strain rate dependent material model usage can be easier since these effects are already defined with some parameters or load curves. Look at the *MAT_015, *MAT_098 and *MAT_224 in the manual for details.
