I am looking for the carbon content of individual virus (e.g. fg C virus-1) and its variability.
It is very difficult or impossible to measure this parameter directly. If a primary structure of the virus proteins and nucleic acid is known, you can estimate the number of carbon atoms for single virion theoretically.
Why this exotic parameter is necessary for you?
Good luck!
Dear Kristian,
you may find this article useful: doi:10.1038/nrmicro3289
good luck!
Thanks for the paper Sigitas, an approximate value of 0.055 fg C virus-1 is just what I was looking for :-)
