You could treat with antibiotics pen/strep but that really just hides the issue. The best thing to do is just make sure you are keeping everything sterile and possibly working in a cat 2 cabinet if possible. If you do get infection just throw it all away. However check all your FBS, glutamine and anything else you add to the cells as they may be infected from alloquoting. Hope this helps
Just make sure that what ever things u bring inside the laminar flow is sterile and try to use spirit or ethanol spray frequently. Try to flow all the basic procedures to avoid contamination.. Never neglect even a small part.
It is the best way to keep away the cell culture from contamination.The all process will be in the laminar and researcher put on gloves in his hand and spray of ethanol in side the La miner,the burner will be continuously start during all process.The mask on his mouth is necessary.All the process will be inside the laminar
Maintain sterile conditions at every step. If possible, try to pin-point the source of contamination and curtail it.
1) Use laminar hood, ethanol, UV light, 0.22 micron filters for medium, autoclave to maintain the sterility.
2) Autoclave all autoclavable stuff like water, PBS, culture medium etc.
3) Always wipe hood and hands with ethanol.
4) Use antobiotics and specially antifungal agent to avoid fungus, mycoplasma, and bacterial growth.
5) Avoid talking, open hair, sweaters in culture room.
6) If culturing 2 or more cell lines, there is a chance of cross-contamination, therefore all process them separately.
7) Timely provide service to HEPA filters of hood.
8) Monthly fumigate the culture room.
9) Use gloves, mask, lab coats, culture room footwears etc.
These are few practices to maintain the sterility of cell culture.

Some of the tips that may help you
1. Control and personel and material access in the cell room
2. Use Sterile disinfectant for cleaning, and for hands also
3. Autoclaved water for incubator
4. Atleast yearly HEPA filer integrity test (DOP test) of both hood and your incubator
5. Monthly cleaning of incubator, cell room
6. Use of sterile gloves
7. Daily use media as aliquots of 50ml
8. Work slowly, and keep hood empty as mush as possible
