Can anybody help me to understand about gene drive? What is the connection of this technology with CRISPR technology? Could it be applicated in plant genome system?
'Gene Drive' can be done using the most recent technology CRISPR-Cas9. Gene Drive can be used to eliminate a certain allele (gene) from a population of ex. mosquitos. Researchers have try to use Gene Drive to eliminate allele(s) in a specific mosquito, which cause certain human diseases (such as malaria). Attached a link to a 2018 article:

According to a report, so far, Gene Drives seem to work well in lab-scale testing, but not as well outside the lab (scale is much larger)...I need to find the paper.
In genetics, gene drive is the phenomenon in which the inheritance of a particular gene or set of genes is favorably biased. Gene drive can arise through a variety of mechanisms and results in its prevalence increasing in a population.
