I want to check that my synthesis hybrid nanopartciles can generate reactive oxygen species under NIR or UV light, What the procedure that I should I follow for that and how to test the generation of ROS and present it as persuative data
You can perform ESR (Electron Spin Resonance) spectroscopy using spin trap like DMPO and TEMPO that are popular scavengers of superoxide anion and singlet oxygen. I do that for my porphyrin systems and it works so good.
Mohammad Issawi For my system the ROS can be generated just under UV-vis or NIR irradiation, So do u think i should irradiate the system with UV-VIS or NIR laser source then analyse directly or simple analysis for sample that can generate ROS with ESR would give positive results ?
You cannot irradiate your sample then performing ROS detection because ROS have very short lifetime. I think that through the use of ESR spectroscopy you will get efficiently positive results
