The supernatant plasma is transferred to a new tube and centrifuged at 13,000 x g, 5 min with brake to pellet and remove the platelets. The supernatant platelet-free plasma is transferred to a new tube and centrifuged again at 13,000 x g, 5 min with brake to ensure there are no platelets left.
