I am a researcher in tumor immunotherapy and worked at Cancer Hospital. Our group will carry out a project on the topic of tumor immunotherapy by DCs. But some news made us feel confused and disappointed.
1. Dendritic cells(DCs) are thought to be a kind of "out of fashion" cells by some scholars. (Is it Real?)
2. So as the DCs vaccine, very little article has been published on the influential journal.
3. We wonder to know what can we do to utilize DCs in the tumor immunotherapy in the further?

What is the primary purpose of your study? Are you only doing research to publish your data into the influential journal?
Why you are confused and disappointed, DC-based cancer immunotherapy is one of the best available therapies including CTL4A and PD1/PDL1.
If your project is related to humans that is a great initiative, even there are few DC-based vaccines are available in market it doesn’t reduces the importance of your work. There is always a space for continued development and improvement.
I wish you can get much better results which can open few more areas for research.

First, our group want to utilize DCs as an agent in tumor immunotherapy in the clinic.
Second, we would like to apply for some financial support about DCs from our country. While these funds mainly focus on the basic medical, which a little harder for our clinical group.
Third, how to explore DCs which have been fully analyzed by scientists is really puzzled us, including whether the data could be published into the influential journal.

My suggestion would be to do a preclinical study in mice or if possible a pilot study in few patients.
Although DC vaccine is effective in enhancing the life expectancy in cancer patients, but it is not a permanent cure. I will suggest you to try any combination therapy, which is not antigen-based with DC which may support removal of tumor or some percent of treatment. These are a few under-explored areas can easily be explored, nowadays many reputed journals are publishing these type of results.
It will also enhance the life expectancy and would be novel for a reputed journal, As well as your chances of getting fund will also increase.
