I want to do experiments on HEK293 and MDA kb2. Both of the cell lines have adenovirus and it is listed under Class 2 bio-safety. Even though we have a BSC-2 working bench, we did not used the cell lines containing the virus up to now. Kindly give suggestions for handling and maintaining the above mentioned cell lines.

You can check out the websites below from the NIH and other universities describing working with BSL 2 cells. I am sure that your university has a similar website and approval process. It is very important to get approval in your protocol before starting to work with viruses. I know that at UVA, the environmental health and safety will shut down your lab if you do not first obtain permission from them to handle these items. Good luck
