I am trying to make a denaturing gel to check for total RNA integrity for subsequent RTqPCR.

All the protocols I've checked so far involved using formamide which we don't have available at hand.

I have methyl-formamide, dimethyl-formamide, and Urea available at hand (I've seen some protocols use urea for RNA denaturation) can I use any of these as a substitute or is there another substance perhaps?
