Hi, I have just started to learn/adapt CRISPR system for our research and I found few companies providing CRIPSR stable cell lines. Unfortunately, none of them explained to the level where a beginner like me understand their importance. Could someone explain what are this stable CRISPR Cas cells lines? how they are helpful?

CRISPR/Cas9-stable lines are cell lines where the Cas9 nuclease has been stably integrated in the genome. Whether or not they are helpful to you depends on your research questions and/or the cell lines you're using. Typically, you would co-transfect Cas9 and sgRNAs, but the Cas9-stable lines minimize that need, which would be useful if you have a large sgRNA library to screen or you want to prevalidate sgRNAs. Also, if the cell lines you are using are difficult to transfect and you need to use lentiviruses, a Cas9-stable cell line would be the way to go, since expressing both Cas9 and sgRNA from one lentivirus or co-transducing with two lentiviruses is not as efficient.
If you could share more about your research aim, we can tell you more specifically whether a Cas9-stable line would be more applicable and worthwhile.
