how they are important for finding a significant treatment. Please help, statisticians find whether the given data is a genuine or arbitrary simply by seeing the CD and SeD and Sem values. I dont know how much correct it is? but i am eager to know...please help me in understanding the trick.
well Dr. Rainer, Its a data sheet for Days required for turning green, it is plant tissue culture parameter where in it mentions about the time required to regain its green colour. I kept in explant in different nutrient media (T1, T2,...) for evaluation. in doing so I want to find the best responding treatment. the design used was CRD as it is a completely lab experiment.
Please could you attach such a table? I think I have an impression what you mean, but I am not abolutely sure. Do yo mean SeD --> standard error of differences or standard deviation, SEm --> standard error of the mean, CD??
For example, the Standard error of the mean is an estimator for the variability of mean values. It is calculated SD/sqrt(N), therefore it becomes smaller with increasing N (that's why power increases with increasing sample size). If the SEM for two mean values is quite small (and therefore the Confidence Interval) as compared to the difference between the mean values itself, it is likely that they differ statistically.
CD is critical difference and the rest correct

Within your sheet I can see that you calculated a ANOVA, but it remains unclear what you actually did in your study. Can you explain the design and what you intended to test?

SED is Standard Error of Difference, CD is Critical Difference and SEM is Standard Error of Mean.
In agricultural sciences, for interpreting the results from field experiments,
Critical Difference is used to compare means of different treatments that have an equal number of replications.
Like in the Excel Sheet you have attached here.
We can interpret the results of “V1 prajwal” From the ANOVA you have came up with as
The Critical Difference (CD) that you have calculated here is 0.978887
So now looking at the means of the treatments
Treatment 1 (T1) is significantly different from Treatment 2 (T2) as their difference is more than the Critical Difference you have calculated here. (T1-T2 i.e. 10.62 – 5.21 = 5.41 > 0.978887)
But Treatment 1 (T1) statistically does not differ significantly from Treatment 6 (T6), as their difference is less than the Critical Difference you have calculated here (T1-T6 i.e. 10.62 – 10.25 = 0.37 T6) would likely not be repeated in subsequent trials comparing these same treatments.
