Dear Researchers and scientists,
I am a budding researcher who is yet to make impact on good internationally reputed journals. But I lack in the art of writing a good succinct covering letter needed for submitting manuscripts owing to which I flunk in getting my works published though good enough!
So, can anybody please teach me the art of articulating a good covering letter.

I wouldn't worry too much about covering letters. They should be short. With automated electronic systems, the editor in chief or editor may not even see your letter. Rather, they are informed that your manuscript has been submitted and will be prompted to review it initially and decide about reviewers, etc.

I am afraid I am not as familiar with music scores although I assume intellectual property and copyright issues are similar. I am also not quite clear about your question. Normally, my response would be submit to the editor but I don't understand the relation of your contact with the publisher and editor. Sorry I couldn't be of help. I was the President of a small university with a very good school of music. The music faculty were frequently worried about copyright legislation that would be targeted at the sciences, social sciences and humanities and which would inadvertently capture them without understanding the very different issues for musicians.
