I am trying to fractionate virus from plasma into different densities by sucrose gradient but we only have fixed angle rotors...
Has anyone tried doing that with a fixed angle?
Should I use the same g force and time used for same experiment with SW rotors?
This will not work properly. If you can, switch to swinging out rotors. The use of a fixed angle rotor, will probably be a huge waste of time.

You are better of using swing out rotors because in swing out rotor the buckets swing out horizontally at 90° angle. This principle of horizontal spinning allows horizontal layers to be formed which remain in this position till the end of centrifugation which is a requirement for a density gradient. So separation of individual particles in density gradient will be more effective in swing out rotor suited for your work as you are using a sucrose gradient.
On the other hand in fixed angle rotor the rotor holds tube at fixed angle usually 45° angle. During centrifugation, the densest particle present in the solution will separate towards the angle of the centripetal force and form a pellet at the bottom of the tube. Fixed angle rotor is therefore used for the purpose of forming compact pellets.
