You did not mention that you mean stable clones, I assumed you were talking about transient transfection.
With stable clones it depends on your construct, see link on the same topic.
But in general, there is a probability that your stable clones loose the transgene after some passages if the clone reorganizes the integrated plasmid sequence. You can reduce that possibility by bicistronic vectors that encode transgene and selection marker in one mRNA (eg. via IRES sequence)
