Impact of COVID-19: The mortality rate is high in old aged group by comparing with other aged groups. They are the pillars/founders of the society. How can we protect them from COVID-19?
To protect old people we have to give attention about thier life. Since they need more help than the other people. So to protect them every body consider what they need and giving reserved area for them. This help them to minimize the contact they have with thier families.
Comparing pandemic flu deaths and seasonal flu deaths does not accurately measure the impact of a pandemic, for another reason. Compared to seasonal influenza, it is clear that the H1N1 virus affects the newest age group in all groups, that is, those who are more frequently infected than others, who are treated in hospitals, who need intensive care and who die.
WHO continues to estimate the impact of the influenza pandemic as moderately severe. It is likely that accurate estimates of mortality and death rates will be possible only one or two years after the pandemic reaches its climax, and these estimates will rely on methods similar to those used to calculate the unusual mortality rate during seasonal influenza epidemics.
From here, he sees that there is difficulty in estimating
Old people are most vulnerable when they leave home and mingle with the crowd. Family members should do everything possible to assist the aged and avoid letting them leave home without being followed. That way, they would avoid unnecessary contacts that could expose them to further risks.
But these seniors need a companion to assist them, even in routine matters. Thus the members accompying them are also requested to follow the same instructions as serious as for the seniors
Special precautions needed to protect elderly at home from COVID-19, because if they contract infection, mortality is very high.
People living in a household with their grandparents have to take extra precautions when going out by taking social distancing measures, masking, and hand hygiene every time the young adults or children come back home because these elderly at home are the most vulnerable to COVID-19 regarding mortality.
It is because death rate of people recovering to go home was only 5 out of 24 (21) patients admitted to ICU due to critical COVID-19 in a study from USA. Half of these patients died in ICU.

This discussion started on April 28, 2020. It is interesting to read the thoughts of RG members than, and now. After a break in responses since May 2020, Dr Arvind Singh has answered that the vaccination is the protection now that will protect the older people. I totally agree, although many of the earlier thoughts are still valid, particularly if a high number of cases necessitate is a lockdown.
But a lot of water has passed under the bridge, so to speak, since April / May 2020. Lessons have been learned and sadly, many lives have been lost.
I think considerations of their mental health is important. If you are fortunate to have such individuals in your lives, it is important to communicate with them; make a phone call to check on their well-being goes a long way.
Protecting and supporting older people is one of the most important social tasks of society. The solution to this problem involves the complex use of various measures: immunization, promotion of a healthy lifestyle and health-improving physical culture, improving the quality of nutrition, social services for this category of the population, etc.
