With 36 different types, cancer mainly affects men in the form of colorectal, liver, lung, prostate, and stomach cancer and women in the form of breast, cervix, colorectal, lung, and thyroid cancer........
Does it mean; It calls for an alternative treatment solution?
In many countries they are using traditional treatment in first stages by herbal medicines, especially after chemotherapy !

Very interesting topic. Cancer is an issue world wide and the numbers/types seem to be on the rise. despite advancement in science and herbal medicine. We we have not seen much improvement generally. I think stopping onset via the possible mechanisms, dietary and lifestyle changes, improved industrial regulations to minimize exposure to obnoxious chemicals etc can be useful. I suppose phytochemicals will play a better role at prevention than treatment.

hundreds numbers of plants have anticancer activity and use full to control in early stage.
As cancer cells can evolve, we should expect different behaviors of cancer cells,when encountering current therapy. Just like the coevolution of prey and predator. So, adjuvant therapy,using phytochemicals along with other cytotoxic drugs can sensitize cancer cells to chemo- and radiotherapy by intervening in each step of carcinogenesis.

Harasit Kumar Paul , the real fact is Pollution free Nature it self is the answer. Cancer is one disease where the etiology is not very clear. But we have many evidences that the harmful substances which have entered the food are the reasons for it. The stressful lifestyle also contributes a lot. In this view correction from the base about the food we eat and lifestyle we follow is necessary. The alternative medicine can be answer only when the we follow the appropriate instructions told with various herbal formulations.

So many plants or phyto constituents have anti caner activity. now days too much literature available regarding it
As per my idea:
1.Cancers are expression of two combinmg evil forces: the genetic predisposition and triggering of that predisposition by wrong lifestyle (include food style, drink style, body clock maintainance, physical exercise etc.).
2. It is a totally wrong, but accepted concept that the isolated phytochemicals are only soldiers of plant origin to fight against Cancers.
Isolated phytochemicals are as like as synthetic chemicals.
Parts of a single medicinal plant contain a huge number of phytochemicals which work together to bring some effect/s. Only study of isolated phytochemicals of any medicinal can be compared with description of an elephant by a blind child by touching.

The most important treatment in the face of this disease is early detection for it, so it is better to have a periodic medical examination all over the world.

Completely agree with you, as of now the success rate of current cancer therapy is limited, expensive and very painful, the alternative herbal treatment could be promising and a lifeline for all cancer patients.

Cancer ranks among the leading causes of mortality all over the world. Unfortunately, only afew types of cancer are amenable to cure. Therefore, is vital for all to continue trying and searching for effective and curable anticancer agents. Meanwhile the most important intervention, at present, is caner prevention via active surveillance and screening programs especially in high risk groups.
Cultured cancer-derived cell lines with comparison to normal healthy cell lines are commonly used to assess the anticancer properties of isolated phytochemicals and extracts of medicinal plants. The anticancer properties of ethanolic extract of leaves, pulp and seeds of, Annona glabra (L.), commonly known as pond apple, were shown, using human drug-sensitive leukemia (CEM) and its multidrug-resistant-derived (CEM/VLB) cell lines.The most potent anticancer activity was shown in the seed extract of A. glabra. Both dried rhizome hexane extract and dried fruit hexane extract, partitioned from total methanol extract, of Aralia nudicaulis (L.) caused death of cancer cell lines such as human colon cancer cell (WiDr), human leukemia cell (Molt) and human cervix cancer cell (HeLa) at a lower concentration, than that of required for the death of normal cells.

At the moment we do not need alternative forms of treatment of cancer. What is urgently needed for some kind of cancer (Like large cells lungs cancer or prostate cancer for example) are precise test for their early detection and of course the prevention is of paramount importance like appropriate nutrition (in this context certain plants could have their contribution in the prevention), avoiding stress and enough physical exercise.
It occurs to me that many different plants (extracts, purified substances) have been tested in vitro on a large number of different cancer cells. The results do not mean that such substances are going to be useful for humans treatments because the curative index might be low and the pure substance may have to be chemically modified in order to decrease certain secondary effect on patients.
