Does it matter if you use an acid (H2SO4) or a base (NaOH) as stop solution, since the main goal of the stop solution is to end the enzymatic reaction by degrading the substrate?
NaOH is suitable to stop reaction when you use alkaline phosphatase. Also, H2SO4 is suitable when you use peroxidase. You must avoid interchange between stop solution, because can disturb the optical density (O.D) of the test.
