Do you know how moisture, colour and luminosity (e.g. CIELab) affect the shelf life of cosmetics products like soap, facial cream, shampoo, etc?
Do you know any regulations about it?

Moisture can affect SOAP ( chemically soap, obtained by saponification or COMBI bars) because will exudate and degrade into a liquid very alcaline.
If moisture is a claim must be tested on skin, but moisture can increase number of microorganisms in formulation and in consequence contamination.
You decide which parameter is critical , I recommend use WATER ACTIVITY for non sterile products as parameter , test and adittionally microbiology USP 42 - NF 37 (, ).
Color and Luminosity are organoleptic properties, and if color is a critical parameter ( makeup, design feature or claims like "pink cream") will affect your stability and shelf life.

Usually in bar soaps made for melt and pour (saponification method) maximum water content (moisture) is 30%.
Bar soaps in extruder 4% max.
In shampoo and creams you will need water as solvent so moisture is not a good indicator for stability BUT you can use WATER ACTIVITY parameter.
