Hello Everyone,

Hope you are doing well.

I have tried (twice) to use phage transduction to transfer a plasmid containing mCherry from S. aureus RN4220 to S. aureus Newman but on both occassions, the transformed S. aureus Newman strains refuse to produce mcherry although they contain the plasmid. I know this because the Newman strains are able to grow on medium containing chloramphenicol. Does anyone know what is happening here and how I can fix it?

Note: I have transformed the same strain with a plasmid containing gfp and the Newman strains produced gfp without any problems.
