After COVID-19 outbreak was declared as pandemic, may countries including India face mounting pressure to close universities including my university, Sikkim University. After lockdown was imposed by the Government of India on 24th March, 2020 for 21 days universities are moving with swift action to switch to online classes.

My experience as an educator in navigating the transition from physical to virtual online classes was overwhelming and daunting initially. Also, not only educators but students are also facing a lot of challenges in getting familiar with the new remote learning because of fewer direct interactions, technological difficulties, devices to access to online classes, internet connectivity and others. At present, students understand the importance of online classes and take the classes more formally and with faithful adherence. However, some students who are staying at home in remote locations could not get access to the virtual classroom on time and could only access the archived activities and discussions when their internet connection is more stable.

I would be interested to know both the students and teachers experiences and perspectives in this regard.
