Hello everybody!

I am running simulations for a centrifugal pump using Fluent. RANS, realizable k-epsilon, non equilibrium wall function, PISO solver, transient with mesh motion for the rotating zone.

BC are velocity inlet and total pressure outlet. By setting the latter to 0, I am monitoring the static pressure through area weighted average at the inlet each time step. Adding the dynamic pressure and calculating the head after averaging then I compare with the experimental data.

However, by comparison with the exp. data I see that the computed head is 2 m lower. As the maximum head for this pump is 14m, a discrepancy of 2m is a huge thing. However, there is something that I am missing and I am screwing up with this.

I am not expecting to get the same head, but something closer. By your experience, what do you think I am not considering and that may causes this drop in head?

Thanks!
