I want to bind a peptide to a hydrogel and test the release kinetics over time using an ELISA. BUT, there is no antibody/ELISA available for my peptide.
So, I know that the molecular weight of my peptide is 8770 da, and that it has 75 aa. I thought I could find a 'similar-ish' protein and ELISA pair and do the kinetic validation with that (based on the fact that its mostly size that determines release from the hydrogel). Is there an easy way to find out whether there are similar proteins? I have used PROTEIN via NCBI, and the Similar Protein search and this only pulls up the similar family members, for which there is also no antibody/ELISA. I have also used slighly wider search criteria in PROTEIN and tried to manually wade though the hits, but no luck yet on a protein that I can purchase off the shelf, and that has an available ELISA.
THANKS for getting this far! :-)
