Hi Bobbi! There are several ways you could try, although do bear in mind that adult astrocytes will be less plastic and more difficult to culture than neonatal. A good method for adult would be immuno-panning for astrocytes, either positively (I.e) with anti-astrocytes antibodies or negatively, using anti microglia and oligodendrocyte antibodies (it's unlikely neurones would survive from adult tissue!). You could immuno-pan either by immunobilising the antibody on dishes or beads. In fact, Miltenyi sell bead-based kits for doing just this!
