Hi,
I have tried silver staining many times to stain gels, but i dont get the results. After incubating the gels in silver nitrate, i do not get any results.I have changed my silver nitrate too, but in vain.

If the gel is from a protein, then try to color it with nitric acid in yellow. If from starch, then add iodine. Get the blue color.Organic color can be added?
I think you can try coomassie blue staining technique though silver stain method very much efficient than coomassie blue. You can also increase the protein loading within the gel.
To accomplish this, conc. HNO3 until the formation of a precipitate has ceased, which, when heated. It turns yellow. Coloring occurs as a result of nitration of aromatic rings of amino acid residues of the protein (tyrosine and tryptophan).
