I am working on pathogens damaging water hyacinth, and during the morphological identification in the microscopy unit, I got these pictures which are attached as well as the original culture
Is any one knows the name of this fungus? Thanks in advance
you can try to make a lactophenol stain or you can do a slide culture it will make it plentiful easier to ID and the structures will not be too much disturbed
Please provide a more clear picture stained with lactophenol blue for easy identification.

To me, I think the black one in the petri plate looks Cenoccocum geophilum , according to morphology. The above picture looks from AM fungi. It would be better to check the spore morphology in order to be sure. Did you subculture AM fungi using Clover or Sorghum or other plants? it could be from glomus species or DSE. HI Abdul, the culture are from damage leaf of water hyacinth by pathogen. The morphology on pictures are from the plate (Culture). Thanks you for the link, I will go there and see.

You are welcome. Cenococcum geophilum is one of the most frequently encountered ECM fungi in nature.
Other way you can do some ITS to know exactly.
