Platelet Counting on Flow Cytometry?

Hi,

Does anyone have a method for counting platelets on flow cytometry (cytometer=Cytoflex) without the need of using TRUcount beads or reference beads? Is it possible or do I need to purchase beads?

In the application notes of CytoFlex there is a section named as "Characterized by Ingenuity". First topic is Beadless Count (Page 95) which gives you quite detailed information on how to make system set up, validation and data analysis for counting cells without beads.
