01 February 2013 26 8K Report

These cells are from an osteosarcoma cell line. They have been treated with a chemotherapeutic agent for 72 hours in a Co2 incubator at a concentration which has been found to induce apoptosis and decrease cell proliferation in another study. I was expecting to see a lot of apoptotic cells when I examined them under the microscope, but this is what I found. There are clearly far less cells in the treatment group, but can anyone explain the strange morphological changes? The picture for the control group is in the comments section.
