I am planning to conduct flow cytometry on tissue collected from the embryonic mouse neural tube. The assay requires 50-100k cells minimum but I am not sure how many cells are in a mouse embryo at the age I am interested in (gestational day 9), let alone the region of neural tube that I will be dissecting off. My plan had been to pool samples. I have previously done this for western blot and easily managed to get 15 ug of protein from my region of interest in the pooled samples.

Does anyone have an idea of 1) how many cells are in a mouse embryo around gestational day 9-10 or 2) if I am able to estimate the number of cells I start with if I am able to isolate 15 ug of protein?

Thank you.
