I'm using NanoDrop 1000 to measure RNA. Everything is working fine, but when printing the absorbance vs wavelenght plot it takes A WHOLE PAGE. I am not comfortable with this and I haven't found a way to export the raw data of the measurement (absorbance at every wavelenght point) to plot it in any other software. The user manual and FAQ of nanodrop aren't helping either.
Do you know if there's any way to get the absorbance vs wavelenght raw data to plot in, let's say, excel or something alike?
Although I am a detractor of R in most circumstances (call it professional bias) it is nevertheless true that a current download of R will likely give you the flexible handling, graphing and printing of data that you seek.

That was exactly what I was trying to do and finally, after reading your answer, I was able to get the file with the spectral data.

I hope you are doing well. My nanodrop exported that data for blank with two extensions (bku, dku) and for the sample (usg, uvs). How can I plot the result using excel or origin ?

We use the NanDrop1000 with the software version 3.8.1.
To save your data go to Reports > Save Report > Export Report Table Only. This will give you an output file that you can later open with excel or any spreadsheet software.
My guess is that the software doesn't change much between versions, so I am assuming that you can follow the same steps whatever version you are using. If you can not and there is not an easy way to export the data from the user interface, try making a copy of the raw data (which will be on your NanoDrop system file location) and open the copy with a notepad/plain text software, then save it as a csv file.

This is quite easier these days. All you need to do is to find Reports on the left hand side of your NanoDrop software.
Then go ahead and configure your report as you like it. Then click on Export on the top left hand side.
Choose your format as Excel XML.
That's it. Done.
When you go to "export" if you click on the file-type drop down menu when you get prompted where you would like to save the file, you can choose "spectra, xml" and it will export the entire spectra. (this is for nanodrop 2,000 users mind you, so it may not work with nanodrop 1,000). Had the exact same problem and just figured out how to do it.
