Many simulation software's are killing the basic knowledge one should have of his field but use of these software's are sometime more helpful and productive then the theoretical knowledge, what you people thinks?
I sincerely hope that teaching the subject has not been replaced by mere coding and testing. The math behind the tool is too important to skip, as otherwise we're going to have sloppy engineers ruining our civilization pretty quickly! :-)
Interesting question and answers. I've seen those who teach entirely on technology and those who completely reject it. I feel there is no "best" way to do anything but a good strategy would be to use technology as a tool in the classroom while still teaching the underlying meaning. It is our professional insights and explanations that set us as faculty apart from wiki and man pages.
