CSF is, on some level, a reflection of circulating blood serum, if I see a patient with this finding, I would look to see if the blood serum albumin level is low as well. If the answer is yes, then we probably should be looking into the patient's liver function after that.

I have a case of an autistic child, with HPOs as follows

HPO Desctions

HP:0001249 Intellectual disability

HP:0001250 Seizure

HP:0001388 Joint laxity

HP:0002020 Gastroesophageal reflux

HP:0002151 Increased serum lactate

HP:0003212 Increased circulating IgE level

HP:0012706 Elevated brain choline level by MRS

HP:0025458 Decreased CSF albumin concentration

HP:0025460 High myoinositol in the brain by MRS

His CSF albumin is low, despite serum albumin is normal. CSF protein is low, but with normal range.

If somebody has a suggestion, I would appreciate the hint.
