Does anyone know of a kit for measuring HMG coA synthase in cell lysates? I will prefer a non-radioactive kit that can be used with a spectrophotometer.
There's not much on the market. I don't know of any kits for measuring enzyme activity.
The only ones I've found are either histology kits or ELISA kits.
- One first : HMGCS1 / HMG-CoA Synthase 1 Histology Assay Kit (CAT#: ITS-1122-ZP1795). Perhaps, it can be used for cells fixed on a plate, as is often the case with this type of kit. But I don't know its sensitivity on cells.
Reactivity: Human; Mouse; Rat
Sample Type :Tissue.
- Another one : Human HMGCS1 / HMG-CoA Synthase 1 (Sandwich ELISA) ELISA Kit - LS-F33086
Reactivity: Human
Range: 0.156-10 ng/ml
Colorimetric - 450nm (TMB)
This kit is a priori dedicated to plasma and serum, but often they have not been validated for cell lysates, test can be made.
Thank you very much for your response. If I use ELISA, I guess I will be limited to only knowing the amount of HMGCS1 in my cell lysates. I am actually interested in measuring the activity of HMGCS1 in my cell lysates. I will be grateful if you have suggestions for this as well.
