I am trying to simulate friction stir welding using coupled eulerian lagrangian analysis in ABAQUS 6.11.
Wheneve I define johnson cook plasticity model the simulation aborts but if I choose isotropic hardening law, the simulation runs properly.

I agree that isotropic hardening will not give me required accuracy. But just for checking the simulation I used it.
Material assignment is not a problem I have checked it a lot and have verified with the example given in the abaqus documentation.
I think its somewhere related to contact but I am not able to get it. I am using general contact
I am getting system error code 5 and somtimes system error code1033.
One more thing. How you incorporated frictional heating in CEL in case of metal cutting, as to the best of my knowledge it does not support frictional heating
