I working in the area of modeling friction stir welding process in ANSYS FLUENT.
I am assuming it as steady state analysis. In literature, I have seen many researchers assuming the process as steady state analysis and plot temperature versus time plot (from the inception of the process till the end) to validate simulation with experiment.
How is this possible? because as I understand we can only get the maximum temperature in case of steady state analysis.
Suggestions and input will be appreciated.
In a steady state analysis a t-T plot has just the meaning of numerical convergenge of the solution to the steady state condition.

How do we extract that data, if we want?
Set you use pseudo transient setting in solver options and calculate (volume or surface) average of temperature in your mesh in solution monitor, then you can plot the temp vs time step.
