JC1 facs gating why cells are falling in gate q1 and q3?

I am inducing apoptosis in Leishmania by heat

then I stain my cells in PBS for 30 minutes at 37 degree celsius.

My positive and negative control are working fine and all cells are falling in gates q2 and q4 , But in one of experiment group cells are scattered in all groups wit about 60% cells distributed between gates q1 and q3

Is there a problem with staining?

It gives different fluorescence depending on mitochondria polarization/depolarization status (cell survival vs death). That must be the reason.
