I am trying to assign shear modulus value to an element, however, the equation of it is a function of pore water pressure rise. subsequently, the value is varying for each node, how can I assign the shear modulus on nodes?
thanks for advance.
Yes. it can be done in ANSYS APDL
kindly, could you give me more details?
how will it be done?
Material properties are assigned to elements.
I think you can't have different properties on nodes from one element.
If you check the "MAT" command : "Assign this material number to subsequently defined elements".
Then you can modify element properties, such as material, with the "EMODIF" command.
If you check the "MP" command : "Material reference number to be associated with the elements".
thanks, Dr jean for your answer,
but is this process requires to re-mesh the model or it can be performed during the solution?
Mr. Jean is correct...
