Yes, it is soluble. The solubility of unconjugated bilirubin in aqueous environment is pH dependent, at pH 12.3 it is very well soluble due to ionization of COOH groups but it is unstable. See also a very good review by Don Ostrow (Journal of Lipid Research (1994)35:1715)
i need to check the stability of bilirubin bounded to albumin. in PBS solution.How can i do that .when taking spectrophotometric readings from 0 hour to six or 24 hours it shows variations
