Mohammad Mazani's group has done a lot of work with zinc supplementation (100mg). You can look up his work here on researchgate. I think this is a wonderful investigation question as this is something that does indeed show benefit as an antioxidant in hemodialysis patients.
ZINC supplement can be tried for dialysis patients who have the above mentioned symptoms. But there is no need as a routine treatment for patients who are adequately dialyzed, well nourished and asymptomatic.
You could consider it in patients with remaining heavy proteinuria. The best way to check it is intraerythrocytic zinc, which best represents total body storage.
