I'm trying to increase spore production for a fungi that I isolated, identification still in progress. I'm culturing the fungi using fermenter at 450rpm/min and I get spore count of 10^7 (ten to the power 7). Is there any method to increase the spore count? Is it possible to get spore count of 10^9 and above for fungi?

in general you can increase fungal spore production by the following two ways: nutrient depletion/exhaustion (nutrient stress) and other mechanical stress. spore production will be higher for complex sugar (starch/cellulose) than simple glucose.
I have grown only bacteria in a fermenter, and that used a glass vessel. Depending on the fungus, it's possible that exposing it to a light/dark cycle could increase sporulation, so if you've got an opaque vessel, changing to glass could make the light effect possible. Unfortunately, though, ultraviolet.is often the active wavelength band, and the glass might still block that. I'd make the light as blue/violet as possible if you do try this. Good luck!
From my view it is possible to provide the number of spores by increasing the incubation temperature this can determine this by epidemiological study of the fungus
Grow the fungus under anaerobic condition. I found this out while I was growing a fungus in the fermenter and accidentally forgot to turn on the aerator. However, the biomass obtained would be quite low..so keep this fact in mind. And please do let me know if you are successful in your attempt. Good luck!
You can increase the number by adding nutrient at the middle of fermentation cycle as well as keeping constant the C/N ratio in the supernatant.
