We are going to study secondary messenger antagonist effects in respect to calcium mobilisation in a pancreatic beta cell specific cell line i.e. Pancreatic beta MIN6 cell line
I also want to know about specific media for sertoli cell derived lines.... MSC-1, GC-2 spd, SF7, 15P1 etc.
In our lab, MIN6 cells are usually grown on DMEM (25 mM glucose) media supplemented with 15% heat-inactivated (60C) FBS/FCS, 1% Pen/Strep antibiotics and 70 uM beta-mercaptoethanol. Media is changed every 3 days, and when splitting cells (trypsin) onto a new dish or flask, try not to plate them at very low cell density since they tend to divide very slowly at single cell density. Bear in mind that cell clusters can grown in three dimensions. Good luck with your project.
