apparently all lines from SCLC grow in suspension, but NCI H446. However it is unclear to me whether H446 line is a good model. anyone with experience coul dplease help with informatins? [email protected]
NCI-H196 is a SCLC cell line that grows as an adherent culture. NCI-H446 cell line grows as a mixed culture (partially as adherent and partially as suspended cell clusters).
These two cell lines represent a variant type of SCLC cells which differs from the classical type of SCLC cells in the expression of DDC and some other markers.
Some SCLC cell lines of classical type (e.g. NCI-H69), which normally grow in suspension, were shown to form adherent loci when cultured on poly-L-lysine coated plates. These loci can be harvested by trypsinization and maintained as adherent cultures.
H1048 is an adherent small cell lung cancer cell line. Can be grown in HITES (complicated) or DMEM (as we do in the lab) without much difference in morphology and pharmacological responses.
