Is the guide RNA (gRNA) designed for gene knockout has possibility of binding to messenger RNA (mRNA) of the target gene?

In CRISPR/Cas, we design guide to make double strand break in a specific site of the genomic DNA. I am curious to know, whether the gRNA-Cas9 complex has any possibility to bind to the messenger RNA (mRNA) of the gene which we are targeting? If yes, will it cleave the mRNA?

There are different families of Cas proteins and some have evolved to target RNAs. I do not believe Cas9 targets RNA though.
