Zinc (Zn) and Boron (B) both are micro nutrient elements for plants. If two different fertilizers containing these two elements are applied together, what will be their impact?
Let me paraphrase your question. You have two different fertilizers, each containing the same amounts and forms (chemical compounds) of the micro-nutrients zinc and boron. And you want to know what is the impact of using both fertilizers on the same plot of land?
I would have three questions about your problem statement. First, if both fertilizers contain the same amounts and forms of zinc plus boron, what is it that makes the two fertilizers different? Second, have you performed an analysis of the soil to ascertain if it is, indeed, deficient in the trace elements zinc and/or boron? And third, is the soil deficient in nitrogen, has this been tested?
Sorry, there is one remaining question. What are you trying to grow in the plot?
It seems to me, that the initial statement of your question is too broad.
You could, of course, answer your own question by dividing the plot into quarters and test one sub-plot with fertilizer A, one with fertilizer B, one with both A & B, and leave the last subplot as the control sub-plot. For each of the three treatment sub-plots, the total amount of fertilizer would have to be the same. You would also need to have multiple plots to guard against variability within a given plot.
In addition to Thomas Cuff 's answer: Is there a need to add fertilizer? If there is no deficiency in the plants, then it is not wise to add fertilizer as this represents a monetary cost. You do not state whether this is a farming enterprise or a research experiment. Either way, spending money on inputs that are not required is not wise.
Chemically, zinc generally is absorbed as a divalent cation, while boron is non-ionic. The two trace elements (usually) do not react. Still, you have not told us anything about your soil type, pH or water relations, so we can't give you any additional help on likely plant availability of the two nutrients.
Perhaps you could elaborate upon your question and then you can get a more informative answer.
As i guess from the question , there is no harm in applying boron and zinc together...unless either soil is too acidic or too saline /sodic in nature..
Dear Md. Abul Kalam Azad thank you for this interesting question. In this context please see this relevant publication entitled
