It would probably be difficult to hit this effectively with siRNA because tRNAs are so tightly folded. How many copies of the tRNA are there in the genome? Can you CRISPR it out?
Well, the whole thing is tricky. You do have multiple genes for each tRNA which makes it difficult to knock-out by CRISPR. Moreover, there is a chance it would be lethal if successful right? However, I´ve found out that people used shRNA with success in this kind of experiment. Maybe tRNA can be targeted when it´s premature and not folded yet?
