I´m working with a panel of various melanoma cell lines and I would like to add at least one non-cancer cell line to my panel to capture possible differences in cellular reaction (cancerous/non-cancerous) to experimental stimuli. But I need the cell line to be a suitable transfection host and I would appreciate it if it is easy to work with in general. Thanks for your help!

What about using Human Epidermal Melanocyte adult lightly pigmented (HEMa-LP) from Thermo Fisher Scientific. Catalog # C0245C.

thank you so much for your answers. The primary melanocytes are surely the best control I could have from a biological perspective. Although, I have little experience with primary cells and as far as I´m concerned it is not a good choice for knock-outs or knock-ins which is what I plan to do. For this, I probably need to pick an immortalized cell line, even though biologically these are halfway to cancer cells. ATCC have one (CRL-4059) but there is very little information available about it, hasn´t been cited in many papers yet.
