I performed a co-culture using Kluyveromyces marxianus and Pichia stipitis and I obtained an ethanol concentration of 11.5 g/L and for the monocultures were 10.6, and 8 g/L respectfully. When I performed Anova analysis using those values it was found insignificant. However, I always believed the value should be significant which shows the success of the co-culture but I am just a bit puzzled just to wonder whether was my co-culture really successful or not. Really looking forward to your expert opinions.
