I am planning to do Genotyping by sequencing (GBS) on Brassica. Our central lab have recently bought a 'miniseq (illumina)'. miniseq is capable of sequencing 2 × 150 bp read lengths. I am not sure, if that's enough for GBS.
So, is miniseq suitable for sequencing DNA for Genotyping by sequencing (GBS) studies. Please let me know.

For a PE read, the high output kit in miniseq generates about 6-7 Gb data, which should be enough for your purpose.
I think as mentioned by Anukana Bhattacharjee. With the paired end read it could be read even more than 3 gb. It depends on what kind of species you would like to use for sequencing.

You have to compare the genbome size of your species to the capacity of your machine:
If your Brassica species has a 500Mb (Brassica oleacera) or a 900Mb (Brassica napus) genome size this is not the same! Miniseq output is given for 6.6–7.5 Gb by Illumina (https://emea.illumina.com/systems/sequencing-platforms/miniseq/specifications.html) , lets say 5 Gb, which provides 10x coverage for genotyping, but this makes about 5x for Bo... It all depends on the quality of the genotyping you need, and on what you are going to do with it!.
