Good morning, I would like to conduct a factor analysis for my work at the municipal level on a panel datae with variables such as income per capita, unmployement rate, percentage employed in a sector, presence of services, etc. From the literature it seems to me that when you have non-normal distributions and want to interpret the results of the factor analysis the method to use is principal axis factoring. My question is whether or not there are differences in applying it with quantitative variables versus qualitative variables.
