Absolutely it is a religion. There is a difference between atheism and atheistic religions. Buddhism is considered to be most prominent atheistic religion in the world that emphasizes atheistic believes : world was not created, sustained and will not be destroyed by God.Atheism also demonstrates some religious characteristics . Therefore it's a religion
Yes, atheism is a belief system that attempts to deny the existence of God by relying on inadequate rational and scientific proof. Atheism makes self-defeating claims that are grounded in the concept of God's existence.
Atheism is the disbelief that includes denying deity. Atheism is not a religion in the traditional sense.
Religion typically involves belief in a higher power or deity, sacred texts, rituals, and moral codes rooted in divine authority.
Atheism, by definition, is simply the lack of belief in gods or deities. It does not require faith, rituals, dogma, or communal worship, which are common features of religions.
However, some critics argue that certain forms of atheism can resemble religious behavior when they become ideologically rigid or involve organized movements promoting secular worldviews. For example, gatherings like atheist conventions or communities built around secular ethics may appear “religion-like” in structure, though they lack supernatural elements.
Legally and philosophically, atheism is generally not categorized as a religion, but it is sometimes treated similarly in contexts like religious freedom protections.
This ensures that people who do not hold religious beliefs have the same rights as those who do.
Atheism appears to be of the same set as practice. I suppose the question becomes "what practices are similar and different between atheism and theism." Atheism is a religion in the sense that it necessitates practice as all religions are just practices in different lights.
